During a visit to Kongsberg on Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) was given a tour of the inter-municipal emergency room in the municipality.

The Prime Minister was welcomed by Kongsberg Mayor Kari Anne Sand (Sp) and Emergency Chief of Staff Susanne Kjær, who explained how they have handled the Coronavirus outbreak and the accompanying test regime.

“I think we have succeeded well, but we have found new ways to step up,” Kjær said.

– “We were well aware of infection protection from before, but glory me, for some new dimensions and much more complex than we could have ever expected,” she said further.

During the visit, the Prime Minister also participated in a test of a person who met the test criteria. She reiterated that it is important to remember the infection control rules even if society is gradually opening up.

Kongsberg has had 22 cases so far during the Coronavirus outbreak. The last case of infection in this municipality was in April.

The emergency room is responsible for the municipalities of Kongsberg, Øvre Eiker, Rollag and Flesberg.
