A woman is accused of driving into several pedestrians on the Gjermundshamn ferry quay in Kvinnherad Municipality in Western Norway in November last year.

The police still do not know why the woman acted the way she did, the newspaper Bergens Tidende writes.

Police attorney Karoline Sandven told the newspaper that the woman has lost control of the car due to negligence. At the same time, the public prosecutor has expanded the indictment to include inflicting significant damage to two of the victims.

“There were no technical faults with the car, and the driver was not intoxicated or affected by medical causes. The reason for the negligent driving is still a bit unclear,” Sandven added.

The woman’s defense counsel, lawyer Per Ivar Hessen, did not want to comment on the case.
