The Norwegian tennis darling Casper Ruud continues to impress. On Friday he made it to the final of the Challenger tournament in Seville.
Argentine Pedro Cachin was beaten 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinals. The challenger tournament is Ruuds first, and it was impressive that he managed to beat the Hispanic home hope and make it to the semi-finals earlier in the week.
It has to be even more impressive to make it to the final in his first attempt at a major tournament at the level just beyond the highest.
– It was a bit unreal, really. Of course you have to go for victory and it looked a little bleak after I lost the first set, but I fought my way into it and eventually got the upper hand. From 2-2 in the second set I felt like I had control, Casper Ruud says to Nettavisen.
