The duo, Anna & Emma from Oslo won the MGPJr 2019 with the song “The Globe is Sick” when the music competition took place at the Telenor Arena on Saturday night.

‘’Absolutely amazing’’ was the answer when Anna and Emma got questions from NRK news’ program leaders, Sigrid “Siggen” Velle Dypbukt and Mikkel Niva about their victory.

The Oslo duo – both Emma and Anna are eleven years old – went all the way to the top in MGPJr with the only climate related song that went through to the main competition on Saturday night. A total of 1,857 songs were registered, compared to 700 last year. Only ten joined the final at Telenor Arena at Fornebu.

Finally, there were only four participants, and they went to the Super Finals. Of these, it was the Oslo duo that were most to the taste of the audience.

Anna & Emma’s song, ‘’Kloden er syk” (‘’The Globe Is Sick”), is based on the will and commitment to the environment of the two 11-year-olds.

Emma is the daughter of Vegard Ylvisåker (40), who did not hide the fact that he felt nerves along the way.

‘’It’s very special. I’ve been quiet throughout the event. But when they suddenly stand there, it becomes a bit overwhelming’’, said Ylvisåker
to NRK news.
