An anonymous donor gave “a small Christmas present” to Vågsbygd church in Kristiansand. The donation amounted to about NOK 2 million.
According to newspaper Vårt Land, the donor, who describes himself as a “Vågsbygd church fan,” wants the money to be used especially for children and young people.
Parish priest Nils Terje Andersen in Vågsbygd parish knows the donor’s identity.
He stated that this is the greatest gift he ever received in his 16 years as a pastor in the congregation.
New opportunities
“We will not become a rich church from this, but it opens up a number of opportunities, and it is a tremendous inspiration for the whole congregation, the volunteers. and the employees,” he said.
The parish priest encourages everyone who is happy in a congregation to give a little of what they have – if they have the opportunity.
“Whether it is NOK 2 or NOK 2 million,” he added.
