Concert organizers have spoken of their fear of further cancellations by international acts if Norway does not adopt a “corona pass” soon.

Unique restrictions in Norway not helping music industry

There may well be the further cancellation of large, international music acts and concerts if Norway does not adopt a “corona passport” (corona certificate) soon.

Martin Nielsen, from Live Nation, told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) that the strict guidelines have forced many international acts to cancel their events in Norway.

The unique infection measure restrictions are also cited as a reason for touring bands to be less inclined to play in Norway.

Tone Østerdal, general manager of Norwegian Concert Organizers, said “I understand that the organizers are worried. We are a different country in this context. We are one of the few that do not use corona passports. And we are the only ones who have an alcohol service ban.”

Bryan Adams, The Cure, and Guns N’ Roses are just some of the big music acts heading to perform in Norway in 2022.
