Crown Prince welcomed all to the Royal outdoor cinema

Thousands of people braved the rain on Wednesday night to watch Erik Poppe’s new film “The King’s Choice” together with the royal family in the Palace Park.
The audience stood up when the fanfare signaled that the royal entourage was approaching , and the applause rang out between the rainy deciduous trees in the Oslo park on the stroke of 8 o’clock.
King Harald came first and shook hands with a group of specially invited veterans, before he sat down on a big bench with plenty of blankets and pillows.
Phones flashed in the dark whilst Queen Sonja, Princess Astrid, Princess Märtha Louise and the Crown Prince and Princess greeted the audience before they sat down.
After several weeks of dry weather the heavens opened on Wednesday afternoon, a few hours before the showing. But just before the outdoor cinema by the Royal Palace was due to start, the rain held off.
Thus Crown Prince Haakon could make his welcoming speech without neither an umbrella nor a raincoat.
