The Crown Princess read from the Bible

The Bible is read from cover to cover in connection with the Norwegian Bible Society’s commeration of being 200 years. Crown Princess Mette-Marit arrived Thursday morning and read Psalm 71.

The Bible marathon from Genesis to Revelation takes place during the four days Bible Festival in Oslo, days that mark the 200th anniversary.

The reading at the stage by Crown Princess Mette-Marit consisted of verses 1-9 of Psalm 71.
The reading ended in Oslo Cathedral on Sunday evening. It was in this church, then called Our Savior’s Church, that the Norwegian Bible Society was founded.
The Bible Society made the first translation of the Bible into Norwegian, in 1904, and today there are about 1.3 Bibles per person in Norway.
