Although Palm Sunday is a feast-day in Christianity, the church pews are empty as a result of the ongoing corona pandemic.

Norwegian churches have recently switched to live broadcasting services online. It will also apply at Easter, which is the most central holiday of Christianity.

On Palm Sunday there were baptisms at Grefsen church in Oslo, but only close family and a priest were present.

Palm Sunday commemorates the memory of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem the Sunday before the crucifixion.
