Eleven-year-old Hennika Eggum Huuse ran away with the victory in this year’s edition of Melodi Grand Prix junior with the song “Can not let you go”.

The eleven-year-old from Oslo was among eight finalists who competed to become this year’s MGP junior winner.

In the end, Maiken, Blixmusic, Emu & Abu and Hennika were in the final sprint, before the presenters announced Hennika as the winner.

The young girl was very moved and burst into tears as she ran up to receive the award. Then she performed the winning song “Can not let you go” again.

– It feels very good. I was very surprised. I have dreamed of this for a long time, the eleven-year-old told NRK after winning the award.

The apple does not fall far from the trunk – Hennika is the daughter of the famous artists Jan Eggum and Kaia Huuse.

The broadcast was held in Oslo Spektrum, but without the audience in the hall due to the Coronavirus measures.
