New additions to Oslo’s festival summer
Summer is festival season in Oslo: Oslo Jazz Festival, Øya Festival and Oslo Chamber Music Festival are definitely among the highlights, but there are many others that are well worth checking out.
Goosebumps by the Fjord is Oslo’s newest music and literature festival. It is held in late August on Sæterstranda beach in the Nordstrand district. Here you can hear well-known Norwegian artists like Anita Skorgan, Solveig Slettahjell and Bendik Hofseth play live. Additionally, there will be events featuring authors Lars Saabye Christensen, Jo Nesbø and many others.
On 6 and 7 August, SALT hosts the first edition of the Oslo Short Film Festival. The festival seeks to make short form films more accessible to a larger audience. The program features documentaries and fictional films lasting between eight and 30 minutes. After the screenings, there are Q&As with the filmmakers. The festival is free and open to everyone.
