Three Muslim organizations will distribute thousands of free copies of the Muslim holy book of the Koran to Norwegians, reports Our Land.

The award is intended as a response to the burning of the Koran to the organization Sian (Stop Islamization of Norway) during a demonstration in Kristiansand just over two weeks ago.

– I think many people are curious about what the Qur’an contains and what Muslims stand for. We hope this project can help demystify what is in the Qur’an, Hamza Ansari, board member of the Norwegian-Pakistani Minhaj-ul-Quran mosque in Oslo, said to Our Land.

Together with the Norwegian Muslim Arts and Culture Association and the Islamic Literature Association, the religious community will distribute 10,000 Norwegian Koran translations to Norwegian citizens.

The organizations announce that they will have stands at various places in Oslo where they will distribute the book. In Bergen, too, they have plans for distribution.

The Koran distribution is funded by the organizations and donations from individuals.

  1. The correct spelling of the holy book in Islam is Quran not Koran.

I love Norway greetings from UK!
