Oslo Pride to take place as usual – in the real and digital world

Oslo Pride has plans to carry out large parts of the event as usual this year. However, infection control rules will be followed.

That means that events such as Pride Park and Pride House will largely take place as usual. The Pride parade is also scheduled to take place, but the details are not clear yet.

However, the festival is building on the fully digital variant it had to implement due to the corona situation in 2020, and it will continue to focus on digital events.

“The situation for people who diverge from the norms of gender and sexuality is still very demanding in many countries, such as Poland and Chechnya.

“Digital presence helps to shed light on this issue, at the same time as we can show our support and solidarity with those who experience discrimination, deprivation of liberty, and hatred,” board chairman Fredrik Dreyer noted in a press release.

The festival’s theme in 2021 is international solidarity.
