Øyafestivalen is cancelled after the government continued the ban on major events until September 1.

“This is a tough day,”  said Øyafestivalen’s general manager Tonje Kaada in a message on the festival’s website.
With the government’s continuation of the ban on events of more than 500 participants until September 1, there will be no programmes arranged for the festival from 11 to 15 August.

”Although we are sorry today, we are also relieved that the authorities are finally on track with clear and long-term regulations. We fully understand that health concerns must take priority. Now we will just roll up our sleeves and start over. We will work towards making the festival of  11-14. August 2021 the best edition ever, in a nice, green Tøyenpark filled with an excellent crowd,” said Kaada.

The festival website also states that those who have bought tickets for this year’s festival can opt to be reimbursed or transfer their tickets to the 2021 festival.
