Percussionist Åsmund Moen named Musician of the Year in the Youth Music Championship

The percussionist Åsmund Moen (24) from Nesodden in Oslo has been chosen Musician of the Year in the Youth Music Championship.

The final weekend of the music championship ended at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo on Sunday. There, Moen received the award for musician of the year.

Moen is rewarded with 50,000 Norwegian kroner and a solo assignment with the Broadcasting Orchestra.

Wind quintet The Quintessence from Oslo was named the championship’s Best Ensemble.

The talent awards went to cellist Felix Dalnoki from Asker, cellist Clara Yuna Friedensburg from Oslo and the violin duo Duo Canzona from Bergen.
