Queen Sonja was in attendance at the Oslo Concert Hall during the Oslo Philharmonic’s season opening on Wednesday night.

The concert was sold out, but due to infection control considerations, only just under 200 spectators in the hall got to experience the new chief conductor Klaus Mäkelä (24) lead the Oslo Philharmonic for the first time.

– ” ‘Mahler’s Symphony No. 1’ is a celebration of playing together and the perfect piece of music to begin a musical collaboration,” said Klaus Mäkelä about the evening’s main work in a press release.

The Queen was present together with, among others, Oslo city mayor Marianne Borgen and board chair Kristin Skogen Lund of the Oslo Philharmonic.
