Renewed interest in belief in the downfall of the earth
Beliefs that proclaim faith in the end times and Jesus’ return experience a rise in interest and questions if the coronavirus is a sign.
Even as the Coronavirus cases began to flare up in Norway, people began to approach the online Church (Nettkirken) and ask if this was an expression of God’s wrath, according to Our Land.
Nettkirken.no is the church’s digital platform offering where you can chat with priests and deacons. The newspaper now reports that the College of Management and Theology (HLT), which is affiliated with the Pentecostal Movement and the Norwegian Baptist community, is experiencing a renewed interest in the end times.
It has been quiet with them since many thought the world would collapse at the turn of the millennium, which it didn’t. Now, today’s young Christians want to know more about the End of Days.
– “It is perceived as relevant. We get questions from students who would like to learn more about this. There are also churches that have put it on the agenda,” says Arne Mella, rector at HLT.
