Today, on Friday the 13th no less, marks the long-awaited premiere of The Snowman: Tomas Alfredson’s adaptation of Norwegian crime writer Jo Nesbø’s bestselling novel from 2007.

The Snowman was filmed in Oslo, Bergen and Rjukan, and it was important for Swedish director Alfredson to preserve a story set in Norway. He himself fell in love with Nesbø’s universe many years ago.
