“Skal vi dance,” meaning “Shall we dance,” is a TV program in which celebrities and professional dancers team up for a dance competition.

Olympic-gold-winning, world champion ski jumper Maren Lundby will be among Skal vi danse participants this autumn. Originally from Gjøvik, Norway, Lundby has won one Olympic gold and two World Cup golds.

“I do not know exactly what I have gotten myself into, but I am very happy that I said yes! I think it will be a great experience, and I’ll use Skal vi danse as a charge for the season.

“In my experience, it’s wise to train in various ways – and I think that balance, coordination, and rhythm are important in both dance and ski jumping,” Lundby said in a press release sent out by TV 2.

Lundby will dance with Philip Raabe, who impressed audiences across Norway last season dancing with another decorated Norwegian athlete, Birgit Skarstein.

This year, retired Norwegian combined skier Magnus Moan will also be seen on the TV screen. Over the years, Moan has amassed over ten championship medals, including Olympic and World Cup golds.

“This will be a new and exciting adventure, and an out-of-the-ordinary experience. I look forward to learning how to dance and getting to know the other participants.

“For the first time before a competition, I feel that I have zero control – but I will do the best I can and deliver as good a dance as possible,” said Moan.
