Crown Prince Haakon received Tuesday the honor of handing over the agricultural cooperative innovation award to SpermVital, which focuses on technology development of bovine semen.
For the first time attended the Crown Prince at the conference Food and Agriculture, where also Agricultural Minister Jon Georg Dale was present.
– Food and food production is not untouched by. It concerns every one of the Earth’s seven billion inhabitants, said Crown Prince Haakon in his speech.
– I am a basic technology optimist and am sure that we will constantly see new inventions that help to solve the challenges we face. Within what we call “green shift” is technological innovation crucial, he said further.
The Crown Prince then got the honor of handing out agricultural cooperative innovation award 2016 to SpermVital.
The idea behind SpermVitals technology is to extend the life of sperm for insemination for up to 48 hours. For the dairy farmer, this means significant savings since the time of insemination becomes less critical, according to the conference`s homepage.
