The Munch Museum postpones its opening
The new Munch Museum in Bjørvika postpones their opening until the spring of 2021. The museum was scheduled to open this autumn.
“Delayed deliveries of fire and security doors, central operating systems, as well as Covid-19, have led to a delayed takeover of the Munch Museum from the responsible contractor to the client,” Oslo Municipality writes in a press release.
To meet the requirements for storage and the exhibition of art, the new Munch Museum needs an advanced climate system. This is not finished yet.
– “We are late, but at the same time well underway to solve the challenges we have experienced with stable operation related to the climate systems in the building,” says project director Per Egil Steen in Culture and Sports Building.
