While other museums experienced a decrease in visits during the Corona period, visitors streamed in at Kistefos and Maihaugen.

-” this week, we’re surpassing the amount of visits for the whole of last year and we have just started the season.”, said the Sales Manager at Kistefos Museum, Kristin Gamme Helgaker, to NRK.

The art museum at Jevnaker is on track to increase the amount of guests by fivefold compared to last year.

Also, the open-air Maihaugen Museum at Lillehammer has experienced an increased interest throughout the corona period.

-” On certain days, we have had more visitors this year than last year.”, said the CEO of the foundation Lillehammer Museum, Jostein Skurdal, to NRK.

The Museums in Oslo, for their part, have reported a decrease in visits due to the absence of foreign tourists. This includes the Norwegian Folk Museum on Bygdøy and the Nobel Peace Center.
