The Oslo Philharmonic celebrated their centenary with Queen Sonja present

Queen Sonja was among the foremost in the audience when the Oslo Philharmonic offered a free concert at Slottsplassen on Thursday evening.
It is the third year in a row that the orchestra will start the autumn with a concert at Slottsplassen. This year, the Oslo Philharmonic celebrates its 100th anniversary. Queen Sonja is the patron of the orchestra.
The crowd that attended this August evening heard a number of classics such as “The Bojaren’s Inaugural March” and highlights from “Peer Gynt”, but also the newly written fanfare “Soundspeed,” made especially for the occasion by Rolf Wallins.
Oslo Philharmonic has 108 permanent musicians.
