Royal guests and the man in the street are going to the celebration of the Royal Couple`s 25 years on the throne. For those who are not able to attend the celebrations in Oslo, they Sunday’s gala performance in the University Hall will offer something for everyone. On Sunday it will be 25 years since King Olav died after a heart attack, and Crown Prince Harald succeeded him as king. This weekend they will also mark the occasion through memorial services and activities for young and old. The main event, by royal request, will be ski games at the Palace Square, opportunities for children to try cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping, ice slide and biathlon with a laser.
– This will be a celebration in the spirit of the Royal Family and it has been great to get a taste of it since we have got snow on Palace Square and children playing there, says communications manager at the Royal Palace, Marianne Hagen to the news agency NTB.
