Norwegians who want to cheer on Agnete Johnsen in the Eurovision Song Contest next weekend will still be allowed to wave the Sami flag.

Eurovision has strict disclosure requirements for use of flags and has previously said that it is only allowed with flags of the participating countries, from countries that have previously participated, or from countries that are full members of the United Nations. The only exception has been the rainbow flag and the EU flag.
– The Sami flag is not included in any of the categories, and it is Norway Agnete represents, has Paul Jordan, Head of Communications at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), previously told the Swedish news agency TT.
Now, however, Eurovision reversed and will allow the use of the Sami flag, NRK news reported.
