Norwegian sports commentator Jon Herwig Carlsen dies at 84
Sports commentator Jon Herwig Carlsen died on Sunday. He was 84 years old.
“He died Sunday night after a long illness. He fell asleep quietly with his closest (family) next to him,” his son Jon Christian Herwig Carlsen told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).
Carlsen will be remembered as one of Norway’s greatest sports commentators and enthusiasts.
“He was a unique commentator on NRK for around 50 years,” former colleague Arne Scheie said.
