Ten pythons that were in a burning house at Husnes in Kvinnherad were saved and in good condition.

The police are working on Monday evening questioning the home owner and witnesses, the West Police District informs.

The police got word of the fire at 3:15pm Monday afternoon. No one was home, but the fire was raging and pictures from the location showed a large column of smoke.

In addition to the snakes, smoke divers worked towards securing ammunition that was in the basement.

-”There was a propane tank in the house, but the fire department and police have gained control of it.”, as reported by Operations Manager, Eivind Hellesund, of the West Police District to NTB at 4pm.

The house is located in a construction site at Husnes. Some of the neighbors were evacuated due to the possible drifting of the smoke and risk of the fire spreading.

Cause of the fire is for the time being unknown.
