126 million NOK for Children and Youth Organizations!

This year Over 100 organizations received 126 million in support through “Frifond” scheme which execute the national council for the Norwegian children and Youth Organization (LNU).

– For us in LNU this is one of the most memorable days of the year. We think it’s great that organizations can get support for local activities which making more meaningful time for children and young people, said by Martin Ulvestad Østerdal General Secretary of LNU.

The money will be used on children and youth across the country. Organization for Youth and Leisure got the biggest share of funds and this year received 9.4 million NOK. The Second most found for working with youth people received by the Norwegian Trekking Association with value of 8.2 million NOK.

– A prerequisite for receiving support from this scheme is to secure that the money is spent locally. There are many enthusiasts who can implement their projects due to the support that comes through this scheme, said by General Secretary.

LNU manages the scheme on behalf of the Ministry of Culture. Funding for the scheme comes partly through the state budget and from the profits of Norsk Tipping.
