On Saturday, Rana Municipality in Nordland registered 15 new corona cases. A total of 41 people have been diagnosed with the infection in the last four days.

All the 15 positive corona tests are connected to known cases of infection, the Municipality announced a press release on Sunday morning, according to the newspaper Rana Blad.

“All 41 infected people are isolated. In addition, about 300 close contacts are in quarantine. The infection is divided into three infection clusters. An infection cluster is defined as a group of infected people where the infection probably has a common origin,” municipal chief physician Frode Berg noted.

On Saturday, 123 corona tests were carried out. As of Monday, the “yellow” level of operations will be introduced in kindergartens.

“Based on the infection numbers in the last few days, it seems that there could be a major outbreak. So far, only two of the infected have an unknown source of infection,” Berg said.
