A total of 17 women have been followed and assaulted at night in Oslo since May. Two people have so far been charged in four cases.

“The police take these cases very seriously, and they are investigated with high priority. We have gone through and analyzed them all. We have also strengthened the patrols,” Ann Kristin Grosberghaugen, head of the investigation section for sexual offenses in the Oslo Police District, told the newspaper Aftenposten.

Most of the assaults took place after midnight, and in several of the cases, the women took public transport on their way home from the city. The perpetrators followed them from the stop and assaulted them.

Rape, attempted rape, and assault

Many of the women are between the ages of 20 and 30, and have been subjected to rape, attempted rape, and assault.

The two accused were arrested in June. The investigation of the 13 other cases is now underway. Three of the reports concern rape.

“We encourage people to be a little extra attentive and take care of each other. Feel free to accompany someone on the way home. If you experience that someone is following you, contact the police,” Grosberghaugen said.

  1. Young Norwegian women and girls being systematically raped (and/or drugged) … being broken down … being under attack.

Are the rapists Norwegian? … or are the authorities allowed to identify them?

  2. Do not walk alone go with a group! or ask someone to accompany you.
