A 17-year-old girl has been sentenced to community service after driving 179 kilometers per hour in an 80-zone in her family’s Tesla outside Trondheim.
The girl, who did not have a driver’s license, explained in court that the family was away when she took the family’s Tesla, the newspaper Adresseavisen writes.
She wanted to act tough in front of a friend when she broke the speed limit on a county road just east of Trondheim. A video of the driving, which was filmed by the girl’s friend, eventually ended up in the hands of the police.
The 17-year-old has now been sentenced in Trøndelag District Court to 40 hours of community service and a fine of NOK 6,000. She was also deprived of the right to a driving license until she turned 20 years old.
