Since March 17, approximately 2,400 Nordic citizens have returned home with flights supported by the Government.

The cooperation with airlines SAS, Norwegian and Widerøe has resulted in 2,400 passengers returning from the Canary Islands, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy and Morocco, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

The scheme, which was to end on 31 March initially, has been extended to 1 May. However, it depends on open airports.

“Several Norwegians travelling must be prepare to stay in the country they are in, until it becomes possible to travel again,” said Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide (H).
