30-year-old man sentenced to 13 years in prison for online child abuse in the Philippines
A man in his 30s living in Arendal has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for molesting children under 14 years of age in the Philippines. The abuse occurred online.
The Agder Police District reported that the abuse and attempted abuse occurred via video through a chat program that the man used to communicate with children in the Philippines.
The police district noted that this was the first conviction in Agder for abuse through a video call on the web.
The accused pleaded guilty and asked for time to reflect after the Aust-Agder District Court issued the verdict.
