In 2015 the first sentences were dropped.Three years later four out of ten Norwegian IS convicts have been released, according to NRK.
Two of those released were fighting with IS in Syria, both of whom were sentenced to four years in prison for participation in a terrorist organization. The other two received shorter sentences for material support and attempting to participate in the terrorist organization, IS.
Police Security Service (PST) emphasizes to NRK that the four are being watched.
“There is every reason to keep a watchful eye on people who have held terror-related judgments,” said PST chief Benedicte Bjørnland.
