Around 40 employees and a few patients have been quarantined at Akershus University Hospital (Ahus) after a patient was unexpectedly diagnosed with coronavirus.

Press manager Geir Boye Lindhjem at Ahus confirmed the news to newspaper VG.

According to the newspaper, a total of 66 Ahus employees are now in quarantine.

“Unfortunately, around 40 employees and a few patients have been quarantined. The patient was admitted a little over a week ago, and came from a nursing home in Oslo. The patient tested negative on admission,” Boye Lindhjem noted.

The nursing home the patient came from has been notified as the hospital does not know if the patient was infected before or after arrival at Ahus.
