On Thursday morning, one of the guests at the DNT cabin Fondsbu in Jotunheimen tested positive for COVID-19. Around 40 cabin guests have been quarantined at the cabin.

The corona-infected person woke up on Thursday morning with respiratory symptoms. A quick test showed the person was corona positive, the newspaper Valdres writes.

“The infected person is part of a larger travel party. All of them will be driven out by a scooter today,” municipal chief medical officer Marit Tuv in Vang Municipality noted.

The party will be tested at the local doctor’s office before being transported back to their respective home municipalities.

The around 40 other cabin guests must stay at the cabin in a form of quarantine, and they will be asked to stay in their rooms.

To be tested on Thursday

They will all be tested during Thursday, the Municipality stated.

“The atmosphere now at the cabin is demanding for both the manager and the guests,” general manager Henning Hoff Wikborg at DNT Oslo and the surroundings told news bureau NTB.

“At the same time, the Municipality is handling it very professionally and has control over what is to be done. We are happy about that,” Wikborg added.
