Despite Coronavirus restrictions and minor traffic, 42 people have lost their lives on Norwegian roads so far this year. This is three more than at the same time last year.

Of the 42 people killed, 35 were men.

– “We know that most men are caught driving too fast and that they are often severely injured or killed in traffic accidents. The results would be much better with only women on the road,“ says senior adviser Bård Morten Johansen in Trygg Trafikk.

In May, eleven people died in traffic, five of them during The past Pentecost holiday weekend. Of the eleven killed in May, ten were men.

Vestland is the only county without fatal accidents this year.
