More people than before have left the Norwegian Church. One reason may be the Synod decision on same-gender marriage.

Church Council figures show that about 4,200 people have resigned their membership in the Norwegian Church in the last nine months,  the newspaper Dagen writes.  The number of  resignations so far in April is much higher than in each of the three preceding months.
While 900 persons on average resigned their membership in January, February and March, 1,092 had resigned their membership by  mid-April.
– I will make no comments on the level of seriousness of this, but each resignation is regrettable and sad,  divisional director at the Church Council,  Ole Inge Bekkelund,  says .
