A total of 44 Norwegian soldiers will travel to Lithuania on Sunday, Army spokesman Eirik Skomedal stated.

“This time, only a mechanized infantry troop is going to Lithuania,” Skomedal told NTB.

In January, Norway sent 150 soldiers to Lithuania after the conflict between Ukraine and Russia escalated. On Thursday, Russia invaded Ukraine.

On Friday, Minister of Defense Odd Roger Enoksen (SP) announced that it is likely that NATO will request more Norwegian resources in NATO countries in the east.
