32 out of the 62 new corona cases in Bergen in the last 24 hours have an unknown route of infection. In addition, two fully vaccinated residents at nursing homes have died after contracting coronavirus.

“Infection rates seem to have stabilized at a relatively high level. There are many people with unknown or unexplained routes of infection due to demanding infection tracking work. Teenagers are still dominant among the infection figures,” infection control officer Egil Bovim stated.

Out of the total, 27 are close contacts, three are cases of imported infections, and 32 have an unknown route of infection.

The Municipality stated that two fully vaccinated residents who were infected with COVID-19 have died. In addition, a new resident has been diagnosed with the infection. Thus, a total of 16 residents in nursing homes are now infected.

Furthermore, 2,614 people tested themselves for corona in Bergen on Wednesday. So far, 8,429 people in the Municipality have been diagnosed with the infection since the pandemic started.
