A Norwegian citizen was killed in the Kharian district of Pakistan on Thursday last week. His wife is charged with murder.

TV 2 reports that both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Kripos were quickly involved in the case.

The man who was killed, Fazal Dad Chaudry, has lived in Bærum since he came to Norway in 1970 but has also lived in Pakistan part of the time in recent years.

The woman’s son from a previous marriage has also been arrested in the case, while her nephew is wanted by the authorities.

“The Foreign Service is aware that a Norwegian citizen has died in Pakistan. Out of confidentiality, we can not comment on the case further,” press officer Guri Solberg in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told TV 2.

TV 2 has spoken with the son of the 80-year-old, Shabaz Dad Chaudry, who is the head coach and sports manager for Nesøya IL tennis.

“I have lived in Norway almost all my life and do not know the Pakistani judiciary. I hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will help us find out what has happened,” the son said.
