At midnight Friday, 11,120 corona-infected people were registered in this country. This is an increase of 86 in the last 24 hours.

In the last two days, the increase has been by 249 registered cases, according to figures from the National Reporting System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS).

The National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) reminds that the figures at midnight can give an incorrect picture of the infection situation in recent days, since it does not appear when the sample was taken – only when a positive infection is registered. On average, it takes one to two days from the time the test result is available until it is registered in MSIS, and this can vary, especially if there is a weekend in between testing.

On Thursday, 13 patients with proven Covid-19 were admitted to Norwegian hospitals, and one of them is being treated with a respirator.

264 corona deaths were reported to the National Institute of Public Health on Thursday. The number has been unchanged since 20 August.
