9,638 registered Coronavirus cases in Norway – 39 new in the last 24 hours

9,638 cases of Coronavirus infection were registered in Norway at midnight Monday, according to preliminary figures from the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH).

This is an increase of 39 cases in the last 24 hours. The increase is somewhat smaller than it has been in recent days. On midnight Sunday the increase was 48 cases and on Saturday it was 83 new cases. Since Friday, there are 170 new cases of infection.

The figures are taken from the Communicable Diseases Notification System (MSIS).

A total of 15 people were hospitalized on Friday with a Coronavirus complications. That was one more than on Thursday, figures from the Norwegian Directorate of Health show. Of the 15 who are admitted, 2 patients are on respirators. The figures will not be updated this weekend.

NIPH has registered 256 corona related deaths in this country.
