The whole of southern Norway is expected to have temperatures above 20 degrees this weekend. Warmer temperatures are also coming to northern Norway, but there will be rainfall.

There will be warm temperatures for the weekend, but it is a bit on the border to call it “Indian summer,” states meteorologist Eldbjørg Moxnes of the Meteorological Institute to NTB.

“Indian summer” is often defined as a warm period only after having a proper cold period.

“In any case, there will be good temperatures throughout the country in the lowlands south of Trondheim from Friday night and through the weekend. The heat also moves towards northern Norway during the weekend, but it is accompanied with rainfall,” says Moxnes.

She says that evenly, temperatures will be around 20 degrees and higher. Before the hot days start, it will be wintery on the mountain crossings starting Wednesday, according to Moxnes.
