The emergency services have arrived at the place where a small plane crashed in Larvik on Tuesday.

“We have located a plane that crashed. Rescue crews and resources from the emergency services are on site,” police station chief Tor Eriksen told NTB.

The emergency services were notified of the crash at 9:21 AM by witnesses, who reported that a plane was about to go down.

The plane has now been found in Tvedalen, west of Larvik. Eriksen does not yet know if any of the people who were on the plane have been found, how many people were on board, or the extent of the damage.

Several lakes in the area

There are several lakes in the area, but police station chief Eriksen does not know if the plane crashed on land or in the water.

“Now we are working on getting an overview, then we will come back with details,” Eriksen added.

According to the newspaper Østlands-Posten, the plane went down at Vestmunnvannet.

Vegtrafikksentralen states that county road 2962 between Tvedalen and Kjose i is closed due to the accident.
