A total of 118,000 people had to stay in quarantine hotels in Norway in 2021.

According to figures P4 has obtained from the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB), a majority of the guests were in quarantine at Oslo Airport.

The Solberg government introduced the quarantine scheme in 2020 to limit the spread of infection in the country. The quarantine rules were later relaxed.

Everyone in quarantine hotels had to pay NOK 500 per day, according to NTB.
