There were 4.6 million passengers at Norwegian airports in May. That is a sharp increase from both 2021 and 2020, but down 7% from May 2019, according to Statistics Norway (SSB).
In total, there were 3.4 million more passengers on board when departing and arriving at Norwegian airports in May 2022 compared with May 2021, figures from the SSB show.
Compared with May 2020, the increase is as much as 589%.
As in April, the increase was greatest for international flights. The number of passengers on flights to and from abroad amounted to 1.6 million in May 2022, an increase of 1,869% compared with the same month the year before.
Domestically, there were 3 million passengers, up 163%.
