On Tuesday all the gates of departure at the Oslo airport will get a new name, with a letter before the number. This is to make it easier for people to find their way in the airport.
Oslo Airport Gardermoen has grown almost twice as big as it once was. This means the importance of easily distinguishing between the different parts of the airport increases, Avinor said.
For example, domestic departures will get the letters A, B and C, before the flight number while international departures get the letters D, E and F. The gates of departures to the countries outside the Schengen area get the letter F. The departure gates with the letters of C and D will be used first when pir north opens in autumn 2016.
– Now it will be easier for passengers to find their way, and through good signage at the airport and good information to travelers, we are fully confident that this will appreciated, communications manager Joachim Westh Andersen at Oslo Airport says.
