Corona vaccination in Norway has almost stopped, the newspaper Aftenposten writes. Almost half of those who have not been vaccinated were born outside Norway.

According to Aftenposten, 581,000 adult Norwegians have not been fully vaccinated. In 295 of the country’s 356 municipalities, the goal of fully vaccinating 90% of the adult population has not been reached.

Department director Line Vold at the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) believes it is natural that progress is not as rapid now but emphasizes that important work is underway in the municipalities.

“More emphasis is placed on campaigns against pockets in the population that have a low vaccination coverage,” Vold said.

According to Aftenposten, the proportion of people vaccinated is very low in several large immigrant groups, and 46.7% of the adults who have not been vaccinated in Norway were born abroad.

For adults born in Norway, the proportion of vaccinated people is 91%, but it is 69.5% among foreign-born adults.
