On Friday, the district court rejected the police’s request for continued custody of the football coach accused of sexual assault in Agder.

The prosecution appealed the ruling, according to Fædrelandsvennen.

On August 20, a male football coach in his 20s was arrested and charged with sexually abusing children in the age group 14-16.

The man is charged with both physical abuse and abuse on online platforms of boys on the football team he trained.

The accused has been in custody since August 20, with a communication ban (letters) and visits ban.

On Friday, the district court decided not to extend his custody.
